Whether dealing with a basic house extension or a comprehensive development scheme, we can assist clients in obtaining the planning and building control approvals necessary before building can commence.
Wide experience of Local Authority procedures and the District’s Planning and Building Control offices, together with a working knowledge of planning committees in the local area, leave us well placed to handle planning and building control applications on our clients’ behalf.
Planning and Building Control Applications
An initial meeting to establish the client’s planning ambitions and discuss what is likely to be acceptable, is followed by preparation of plans. Applications for modest schemes are drawn up in-house, prepared and presented in a manner which we know, from years of experience, is most likely to find favour with planning officers and committees. For more ambitious projects we prefer to draw on a range of skills, often assembling a team of specialists – highway engineers, town planners, architects – that we believe suit the demands of a particular scheme.
With plans agreed by the client and submitted, the application is followed through all stages to planning approval. When necessary, and if there is good chance of reversing a decision, we will also represent a client at a planning appeal.
We are able to design your scheme in accordance with the regulations and draft the specifications that will meet all of the Building Control requirements. We work with local authorities and a number of approved inspectors which gives us a head start of knowing exactly what the individuals will require in order to grant approval.
Our team are also able to provide advice and expert evidence if you feel that particular works have not been carried out in accordance with the current Building Regulations.
